CMG partners with Brookfield Properties and City of Concord to transform Concord Naval Weapons Station

The U.S. Department of Defense closed the base in 1999, and CMG assisted the City with a community-based Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) plan, and subsequent Re-Use Plan, which was adopted in 2010.  After more than a decade of further planning, the City and Brookfield are moving forward with a plan for a mixed-use walkable community with the highest density focused around the existing BART station, including 12,000 homes (3,000 affordable housing units), 6 million sf of office space, 880 acres of new parks, and dedication of 2,200 acres of open space to the East Bay Regional Parks District.

We are thrilled to join a collaborative team of experts led by Brookfield Properties, including Urban Design Associates, CBG, ENGEO, Keadjian, Fehr & Peers, Brightworks, KTGY, and OJB Landscape Architecture to help the community realize this remarkable opportunity to expand natural habitat, provide a new network of public spaces, and create Concord’s next new walkable neighborhood.
