Natalia is a Designer at CMG Landscape Architecture with over four years of experience in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning in South America and the United States. Growing up in Bogotá, Colombia, at a high plateau within the Andes Mountains, she is intrigued by the relationship between the built environment and the natural systems. Her curiosity led her to landscape architecture in search of opportunities to create meaningful connections between people and their surroundings while revealing the ecological and cultural identity of a place.
At the City Planning Office of Mayor Enrique Peñalosa, Natalia worked as an urban planner and designer on the development of urban revitalization projects within Bogotá’s Comprehensive Plan (2017-2030). In recent years, she worked at an award-winning design firm in Knoxville, Tennessee where she helped develop a wide range of projects of different scales, types, and complexities—from concept design to construction documentation. Natalia was drawn to the Bay Area in pursuit of her belief in design as a catalyst for the healing and regeneration of communities by providing creative strategies for social and climate adaptation and resilience.
In 2018, Natalia was awarded the Alabama ASLA Merit Award for her work and dedication throughout her master’s program at Auburn University. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Auburn University, a Master of Architecture from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, a Master of Urban and Territorial Development from Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
